Champions League: Dortmund and Real Madrid advance to semis

Borussia Dortmund scored twice in added time, including a seemingly offside winning goal from defender Felipe Santana, that saw them complete a sensational comeback against Malaga and advance to the last four for the first time in 15 years.

It looked like a decisive goal when Malaga's Eliseu Pereira dos Santos made it 2-1 at the 82nd minute to force Dortmund to win the match. However, they turned things around within two minutes to shock the visitors from Spain.

Marco Reus breathed life into Jurgen Klopp's side with a close-range finish in the first minute of stoppage time but there was even greater drama to come as Dortmund pressed on in search of a third goal, which duly arrived with seconds remaining as Felipe Santana scrambled home.

The officials failed to spot three Dortmund players in offside positions when the ball was launched into the area, but when the ball broke to Santana - also in an offside position on the goal-line - he had no hesitation in blasting home to trigger scenes of disbelieving delight at Signal Iduna Park.

Malaga winger Joaquin had given the Spaniards an early away goal before Poland striker Robert Lewandowski's equaliser made it 1-1 at the break.

"I cannot explain what has happened to me after that," Dortmund coach Jürgen Klopp said. "I think I need to see a doctor. It feels like we have won the trophy."

For the Spaniards it was a complete contrast of emotions. "We are still trying to take in what has happened. The dressing room is very depressed," said the former Manchester City forward Roque Santa Cruz. "It was a game that incredibly we let slip out of our hands In the end they had a lot of luck. Not only for scoring goals but because of the situations as well. The third was offside. They had a lot of luck."

Galatasaray 3-2 Real Madrid (agg 3-5)

Real Madrid survived a late scare to see off Galatasaray and advance to the next round of Champions League action. Though the bulk of the players for the Spanish side underperformed, they will still be among the last four standing in Europe.

Already leading 3-0 from the first-leg last week, it took Los Blancos just eight minutes to build on their advantage as Sami Khedira crossed for Cristiano Ronaldo to prod home from close range.

However, after Ronaldo had missed a guilt edged opportunity to double his tally on the night, Galatasaray produced a remarkable comeback as Emmanuel Eboue thumped in a stunning equaliser from the edge of the box.

Wesley Sneijder and Didier Drogba - two of Madrid boss Hose Mourinho's former charges - then added two goals in a minute to ensure a nervy final 18 minutes for Madrid.

Alvaro Arbeloa saw two quick-fire yellow cards a minute from time to ensure he will miss the first-leg of the semi-final, before Ronaldo sealed Madrid's path into the last four with another sweet strike in stoppage time. It was his 11th goal in 10 Champions League games this season.
