Atletico Madrid stun Real to win Copa del Rey
Atletico Madrid stunned city rivals Real Madrid to win their 10th Copa del Rey when Miranda's extra-time header secured a 2-1 comeback win in an action-packed and ill-tempered clash at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on Friday.
Cristiano Ronaldo put Los Blancos in front with a header following Mesut Ozil's corner before Diego Costa levelled.
The Brazilian produced a composed finish after Radamel Falcao's pass before Real hit the post three times through Ozil, Karim Benzema and Ronaldo.
But Joao Miranda's extra-time header secured a famous victory for Atletico.
The match descended into chaos near the end when a mass brawl between substitutes and technical staff erupted on the side of the pitch as Ronaldo received his marching orders.
Play was further interrupted moments later when Atletico goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was hit by an object thrown from the crowd and Gabi was shown a second yellow card in the dying seconds for time wasting.

Earlier, Mourinho was sent from the bench for protesting a referee's decision in the 76th minute.
The Portuguese reacted furiously when the official awarded a free-kick to Atletico, racing to the edge of his technical area and gesticulating wildly.
There was plenty of criticism laid at Mourinho's door, not just for defeat on Friday night, but for his three-year spell in charge which has delivered just the league title last season and the 2011 Copa del Rey in terms of major trophies.
“This is my worst season. I have never not won an important title. You can say I failed this season,” Mourinho said. “With one final, a semifinal, a second-place finish, and a Spanish Supercup, for many other coaches it would have been a good season. For me it’s the worst.”
Mourinho repeated he will decide his future with club president Florentino Perez after the season ends in early June.
“We had the good fortune that a champion needs,” said Atletico coach Diego Simeone, who added the cup to the Europa League title won last year. “What these players have done for the past year and a half is amazing. I don’t have words for it.”
