In Champions League quarter-finals first leg competition, Atletico and Real Madrid drew 0-0; Juve beat Monaco 1-0; Porto won 3-1 against Bayern Munich, and Barcelona defeated PSG 3-1.

The upcoming blockbuster Champions League Madrid Derby clash between holders Atletico Madrid and titan La Liga side Real Madrid, may provide a chance for Atletico boss Diego Simeone to get revenge on Real manager Carlo Ancelotti for his club’s loss in their only meeting in European competition to date. Ancelotti is expected to start Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema in a 4-3-3. The Derby will be held on April 22, 2015 at Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid, Spain.


Real Madrid key defender Sergio Ramos will start against Atletico in his first Champions League game since the end of February when the Whites lost to the Rojiblancos 4-0. Over the weekend, Real goals from Ramos, James Rodriguez and CR7 secured a 3-1 win over Malaga putting them just a few points behind first place Barca in the Spanish La Liga.


Slovenian international goalie for Atletico, Jan Oblak, has stepped up as No. 1 after the injury of Miguel Angel Moya. Oblak proved himself key against Real Madrid with eight saves including stopping a sure shot from Welshman Gareth Bale.


Atletico Madrid key defender Diego Godin came close to scoring the match winner in last year’s Champions League Final match, while Guilherme Siqueira caused trouble for Madrid’s Dani Carvajal.

On April 22, Monaco will host top of Italian Serie A titan club, Juventus at Louis II Stadium in Fontvieille, Monaco.
