Premier League 2015-16 news and results week 30

Premier League news: Leicester City, Spurs, Arsenal, Manchester City, West Ham, Manchester United in battle for Premier League title.

Leicester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Manchester City, West Ham United, and Manchester United remain in the close fight to win the England Premier League Championship. The Spurs made a big leap on top of the Premier League table after defeating Aston Villa 2-0 on Sunday afternoon, closing in on leaders Leicester City within two points.

Going into Match Week 31, Leicester are still in first place with 60 points; Tottenham in second with 58 points; Gunners in third with 52 points; Man City in fourth with 51 points; West Ham in fifth with 49 points; and Man Utd only two points behind in sixth with 47 points.

Arsenal and West Ham’s fixtures were postponed last weekend due to the FA Cup featuring holders Arsenal v Watford. Watford defeated the Gunners 2-1 in a big moment and career high for the Hornets boss as Arsenal crashed out of the competition on Sunday at the Emirates Stadium in a dramatic tie. Arsenal, and West Ham Match Week 30 games will be rescheduled.

Leicester City Update – EPL #1

Leicester City v Newcastle United

EPL 2015-16 leaders, Leicester City next face Newcastle United on Monday, March 14 at King Power Stadium in Leicester. Do not miss the chance to watch this surprisingly successful team continue their fairy-tale season as they stay ahead of the traditional Premier League super-clubs on their way to league glory and an amazing chance to play in the Champions League in the 2016-17 season.

Tottenham Hotspur Update – EPL #2

Aston Villa 0-2 Spurs

The Spurs title bid in firmly on track. Harry Kane scored his 21st and 22nd goals of the season to bring the Spurs within two points of top of the EPL table Leicester City. Tottenham closed the gap after Kane scored two goals in three minutes to sink Aston Villa. Villa managed only two shots on target as they lost a fourth-straight league match.

The England striker's two goals drew him level with Jamie Vardy on top of the EPL goal scoring chart, with 19 goals to date for Kane in his last 21 Premier League appearances. Mauricio Pochettino, Tottenham boss, was pleased with Kane and his sides’ victory.

"It was a good victory and three important points after a few games that have not been so good. We created more chances and played well. It is difficult to play against teams playing for survival but we had the right mentality and I am pleased,” said Spurs manager Pochettino after the match. "We need to keep the pressure on and win games. You cannot stop the dream of the supporters and they are right to dream. But we need to work hard."

Tottenham will next attempt to earn back a three-goal deficit when they host German club Borussia Dortmund in the second leg of their Europa League last-16 tie.

FC Arsenal Update – EPL #3

Arsenal P-P West Brom Postponed

Match to be rescheduled due to FA Cup.

The shocked Gunners crashed out of the FA Cup as Watford won 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium in a hard fought game. Watford goals came from Odion Ighalo and Adlene Guedioura in the second half. Sub Danny Welbeck gave Arsenal their only goal in the final moments.

Manchester City Update – EPL #4

Norwich 0-0 Man City

Manuel Pellegrini's Manchester City side did not respond to his pre-match warning that they had no "margin for error" in the Premier League title race for the remainder of the season. With nine games left in their campaign, City's title hopes diminished as they drew with Norwich ending up nine points behind league leaders Leicester City.

Norwich goalie John Ruddy blocked two Sergio Aguero efforts keeping City at bay. Norwich almost scored from a 25-yard Patrick Bamford shot that hit the crossbar and from a late Graham Dorrans shot.

"We are disappointed. We tried to be aggressive with and without the ball. We had a good attitude but we could not create space,” said Pellegrini after the game. "Of course we should create more in the last third. We were static up front. Every time that you drop points it is harder but you must continue thinking in a positive way. We must always try to win the title while we mathematically can."

West Ham United Update – EPL #5

West Ham P-P Watford Postponed

Match to be rescheduled due to FA Cup.

West Ham drew 1-1 with Manchester United in the quarter-final of the FA Cup after a late goal saved the Red Devils at Old Trafford. An unbelievable spinning world-class free-kick from Dimitri Payet got past superstar Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea for the Hammers to almost advance them to the semifinals. However a late Anthony Martial goal saved United, setting up a replay of the game at Upton Park.
