Leicester City 2-1 Swansea City

Holding EPL champions Leicester City defeated Swansea City 2-1 to enjoy their first victory of the 2016-2017 Campaign. Leicester’s battle is on to defend their crown with goals from Jamie Vardy and Wes Morgan. Swansea City’s only goal came from Leroy Fer. Premier League champions Leicester had to fight for their first victory of the season at a rain-drenched King Power Stadium in horrible conditions. England striker Vardy opened his Foxes account for the Premier League season after 32 minutes with a trademark goal. Leicester doubled their lead seven minutes into the second half as Wes Morgan scored a header after the talented Leicester captain volleyed in from close range. Four minutes later Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez’s penalty, awarded for a foul on Shinji Okazaki, was saved by Lukasz Fabianski. Leroy Fer then halved the deficit for the Swans with a superb header from Modou Barrow’s cross. Claudio Ranieri’s side surely deserved their first three points of the season, however Swansea have yet to earn their first win of the campaign. Throughout the match, heavy torrential rain combined with thunder and lightning created horrendous conditions on the pitch and an extra dimension to the game which the Foxes coped with better than their opponents as they dominated possession. Jamie Vardy, who barely had a chance in the Foxes’ opening two EPL games, gave Italian boss Claudio Ranieri's side the lead with a typical Leicester goal with Danny Drinkwater playing a long ball for Vardy. The 29-year-old took it and thumped home his goal via the woodwork.

Squads
Leicester City

Schmeichel, Simpson, Huth, Morgan, Fuchs, Mahrez, Drinkwater, Amartey, Albrighton, Okazaki, Vardy.

Then Spurs scored the equalizer when Danny Rose fired in at the far post after Lamela had flicked on Eric Dier’s cross.
