FA Cup update

Emirates FA Cup fourth round results

Titan England Premier League sides Manchester United, Leicester City, Chelsea, and Manchester City won their FA Cup Fourth Round ties to earn a spot in the Fifth Round ties that take place in February after the replay fixtures are played. Jurgen Klopp's mighty Liverpool was knocked out of the popular tournament. Titan Tottenham Hotspur has to replay their match after drawing 1-1 against Newport. Liverpool is out of the historic competition, however, Liverpool manager Klopp claims added time was cut short by broadcasters BT Sport during his side's FA Cup defeat by West Bromwich Albion.

Fourth round replays, including Tottenham Hotspur v Newport, are set to take place on February 6-7. The fifth round is scheduled to take place on the weekend of February 17-18. The downside of Spurs' 1-1 draw at Newport County in the FA Cup fourth round against a League 2 side, is that the replay adds yet another clash in Tottenham's heavy schedule in a very important stretch of Spurs' battle for a top-four finish and a spot in the Champions League next season. The replay date has been set. Tottenham will host Newport on Wednesday, February 7 at Wembley Stadium, their temporary home ground while their stunning new stadium is being built. The game begins at 7:45 p.m. The match is scheduled in between Tottenham's trip to Anfield to play Liverpool on Sunday, February 4 and their second North London Derby at Wembley on Saturday, February 10. It also means, with the Champions League home-and-home series coming up against Juventus, that Spurs will play a mid-week match for four out of the next five weeks. While Spurs played poorly at Rodney Parade, they are considered firm favorites in the upcoming replay at Wembley Stadium. However Pochettino intends to win and stay in the FA Cup tournament in his hunt for silverware this season, so he is likely to feature his strongest football players on the 7th, even if they are tired. The current seating capacity of the Spurs new Stadium is 61,559, and Tottenham has made a request to increase the capacity by another 441 seats. Spurs were able to find a few corners of the stands to squeeze more awesome new plastic seats. England Premier League transfer rumors
Rumors are flying amidst fans speculation on the last day of the EPL's January winter transfer window. Chelsea will refuse any bid from Man City for 27-year-old Belgium midfielder Eden Hazard, even if Pep Guardiola's side offer to break the world record transfer fee of £200m. Chelsea are targeting Tottenham's Spanish striker Fernando Llorente, 32, if they cannot sign Arsenal's 31-year-old France striker Olivier Giroud. Chelsea's Brazil defender David Luiz, 30, is a potential makeweight in bringing Giroud to Stamford Bridge. Italian Serie A champions Juve want to sign 24-year-old Liverpool and Germany midfielder Emre Can, who is out of contract in the summer, on a free transfer. Man City are close to signing England Under-21 winger Jack Harrison from New York City for a fee of about £4m. He will then move to Championship side Middlesbrough on loan. Barcelona's Brazil playmaker Philippe Coutinho, 25, returned to former club Liverpool's training ground to say goodbye to team-mates.Tottenham Hotspur reportedly will only let striker Fernando Llorente go to champions Chelsea if they made a significant profit on the £14m they paid Swansea to sign the Spanish footballer in September. West Brom are close to signing 27-year-old Borussia Dortmund and Germany forward Andre Schurrle, who is also sought by West Ham. Anderlecht want Newcastle striker Aleksandar Mitrovic but the Magpies will not let the 23-year-old Serbia international go on loan for under £15m. Brazil superstar forward Neymar joined French giants PSG from Barca last summer but Spanish La Liga president Javier Tebas says he "would like" the 25-year-old, who has been linked with Real Madrid, to return to Spanish football. Monaco VP Vadim Vasilyev said France winger Thomas Lemar, who is linked to signing with either Arsenal or Liverpool, will not be sold in the January transfer window. Liverpool's English midfielder Ovie Ejaria, will go to Championship side Sunderland on loan for the rest of the season. Championship top of the table Wolves are trying to bring DR Congo striker Benik Afobe, 24, back in a loan deal from Bournemouth. Everton boss Sam Allardyce has told Netherlands midfielder Davy Klaassen he should go out on loan in a bid to revive his career at Goodison Park. Twenty-four-year-old Klaasen joined the Toffees in the summer but has not featured in a Premier League game since September. Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson is still looking to bring in Getafe's Spanish goalie Vicente Guaita, 31, as well as Lille's 24-year-old French defender Ibrahim Amadou.
