Tottenham Hotspur update

Big changes this summer at the Spurs

Reportedly Manchester City have agreed to a fee in excess of £50million with Tottenham Hotspur for Kyle Walker, making Walker the world’s most expensive defender. However, the Spurs are definitely not interested in selling Eric Dier to Manchester United. Popular Dier has featured 135 times for Tottenham. To date, the Spurs have not received any bids for Dier and have no intention of selling the midfielder to anyone. Both Walker and Dier were key to Tottenham Hotspur’s ending up in second place at the end of the England Premier League 2016-17 season and in the Spurs earning a spot in next season’s Champions League Tournament. Rumor has it that giant club Manchester United are looking to sign a strong defensive midfielder this summer and are interested in Dier in addition to Chelsea's Nemanja Matic.

However England international Dier has four more years left on his contract with the Spurs, and club manager Mauricio Pochettino will only sanction sales of players that he does not need to win for the Spurs next season. Twenty-three-year-old Dier joined Tottenham Hotspur from Sporting Lisbon in 2014 and scored on his Premier League debut in a 1-0 win over West Ham. Dier signed a new five-year contract in September 2015 following his superb debut campaign and was rewarded once again a year later with another five-year deal. Dier, who has featured 135 times for the Spurs, has been capped 19 times by England and featured at Euro 2016.

Meanwhile Barcelona superstars Lionel Messi and Neymar reportedly want Barca to sign Dele Alli away from Tottenham Hotspurs this summer during the open window. Barcelona are looking for talent to rebuild their titan side after their Spanish La Liga campaign last season where they finished second behind Real Madrid. Messi feels new talent is needed if Barcelona are to challenge champions Real Madrid for silverware next season.  The Catalan titans are having a frustrating spell this summer in the transfer window, with top targets yet to be signed. Barcelona made a bid for superstar Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho, with Neymar inspiring his club to move for his compatriot. Barca also have their eye on PSG’s Marco Verratti, but the Italy international does not seem to want a move away from Ligue 1 and French giant club Paris Saint Germain.

Neymar and Messi reportedly say twenty-two-year-old Alli should be signed by Barcelona at all costs. Lionel Messi and Neymar want to play alongside Alli and ardently want Barcelona to sign him. Alli played a key role for Tottenham Hotspur last season, scoring 22 goals in 50 games as the club finished in second place behind titan club Chelsea on the England Premier League table.  Rumor is that Barca want a fast man in the middle of the park while Andres Iniesta and Sergio Busquets are slowing down. Barca football players want Allie in the Nou Camp dressing room and on the pitch. Last May, Alli refused to rule out a move away from White Hart Lane. "It's important you enjoy the journey, whether I end up at Tottenham for the next 15 years and retire here," said Alli. "I think it's important for me not to get too carried away by what will happen in the future. The way football is, anything can happen at any time. I will enjoy my time here now; who knows what will happen in the future."

Barcelona's two biggest players the dynamic duo Lionel Messi and Neymar think Dele Alli would be a Nou Camp hit after Messi was angry by Barca’s pursuit of Paulinho. Brazil international Paulinho spent the last three years in the Far East with Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao F.C, where he only scored 27 goals from 90 games. After finishing second in the England Premier League last season, The Spurs will play at Wembley Stadium in London next year while their new ground is completed. Old White Hart Lane was torn down at the end of last season to be replaced by a 60,000-seater stadium that is being built on the site of the old White Hart Lane ground. Tottenham's first game at Wembley of 2017-18 will be a friendly against Juventus. The club will play at the national stadium next season while their new ground is completed, ready for the 2018-19 season. And Tottenham supporters have been quick to snap up the tickets for their single season away from White Hart Lane at stunning Wembley, with the club selling out five weeks before the start of the new campaign.

Manchester City fear the star in their academy, forward Jadon Sancho wants to leave the club to go to Arsenal, RB Leipzig, or Tottenham Hotspur who are all interested in him. Seventeen-year-old Sancho has already trained with City’s Pep Guardiola's first-team squad. But there may be no realistic route into the senior team for Sancho. The U17 international is considered one of England's most promising young stars. Although City were confident of tying Sancho down to a new three-year deal there are growing concerns at the Etihad that Sancho, one of the most promising youngsters in the country, sees his future elsewhere. Indeed, City have high hopes for Sancho; a feeling that was underlined earlier this year when discussions over a potentially lucrative new contract got underway. And despite Sancho’s great talent, the route into City’s senior squad has major obstacles due to the number of top attacking players Guardiola has to choose from.

Tottenham released a statement on their official website, saying: 'Season tickets for the 2017-18 season at Wembley Stadium are sold out. 'Ticket sales have been capped at 40,000 to ensure all are guaranteed a seat at the new stadium.' Season tickets for Wembley were made available for cheaper than at White Hart Lane. Tottenham's new 60,000-seater stadium will be completed ahead of the 2018-19 season. The new stadium is being built on the site of Tottenham's former home ground, White Hart Lane. Tottenham played their 2016-17 European matches at the 90,000-seater Wembley Stadium, but won only one of their four ties, drawing once and losing the remaining two. The Spurs were defeated by Chelsea at Wembley in the FA Cup semi-final.
