Premier League leaders Chelsea were hit by an 87th-minute sucker punch as they were held to a 1-1 draw by lowly West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday, handing the title race initiative back to Arsenal and Manchester City.
Chelsea were poised to move four points clear at the top of the table on the back of defender Branislav Ivanovic's injury-time strike in the first half at The Hawthorns.
But substitute Anichebe flicked home his third goal of the season in the 87th minute to make it 1-1 and thwart the Blues, who had lost on their last two visits to this part of the West Midlands.
The point lifted West Brom out of the bottom three on goal difference.

"We were comfortable in the game, maybe too comfortable. We didn't kill the game when we had the chance," Mourinho told reporters.
"In this moment we have one more point than before. If Arsenal and City win tomorrow they go above us but that is their job. Every game is difficult and every team needs points."
Elsewere, West Ham United won their third game in a row, beating Norwich City 2-0 to pull five points clear of the relegation zone.
Jose Fonte got the only goal as Southampton won 1-0 away to Hull City, slamming home the rebound after a fine save from Steve Harper.
Cardiff City remains second-bottom after a 0-0 draw at home to Aston Villa.
