Liverpool go top after thrashing 4-0 Tottenham Hotspur
Liverpool have moved 2 points clear at the top of the Premier League table following their impressive 4-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur yesterday at Anfield Road.
The Reds took advantage of Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace on Saturday to claim the first spot with 71 points. Blues remain on 69 whilst Manchester City is third with 67 points but Manuel Pellegrini’s men have two games in hand.
It took only 2 minutes for Liverpool to open the scoring thanks to Younes Kaboul unfortunate own goal.
Moments later, Luis Suarez doubled the lead as he stole the ball from Kaboul and drove it inside the box where he crossed past Lloris into the net.
Coutinho added the third in the second half with a long effort that went low into the bottom corner and Jordan Henderson’s free kick made sure the job was done with 15 minutes to go.

This is the eighth successive win for Brendan Rodgers’ men who will be looking to win Liverpool’s first English title in 24 years.
"We'll enjoy that because it's a fantastic performance but now it's a matter of getting to work again, because we've got a tough game against West Ham," Rodgers told reporters.
He added: "The dream is for our supporters, who want to win the title because it's been a long time. My thinking is just to prepare the team and see how far it takes us."
